Our Commitment to the Community
Our mission calls us to improve health and quality of life in the communities
we serve. To do this, we reach beyond the walls of our hospitals and care
facilities to identify and respond to community needs. Here are some of
the ways in which we live out these commitments:
CARE Network provides the full spectrum of support for patients who don’t
have access to the financial, educational, emotional or other resources
they need to care for themselves. CARE Network makes an impact on clients’
lives through home visits, disease management education, advocacy and
Children’s Dental Clinics,
The Children's Dental Clinics have provided comprehensive dental care
in a “kid-friendly” atmosphere to children whose families
are without dental insurance and struggle to meet basic needs. Services,
including oral screenings and sealants, are available to all children
who are eligible for Medicaid or CHIP and adults and children who meet
certain financial requirements.
Community Resource Centers, Humboldt County, CA
Redwood Memorial Hospital, in partnership with St. Joseph Hospital Eureka,
operates five Community Resource Centers located in Eureka at the St.
Vincent De Paul free dining facility, as well as in Loleta, Rio Dell,
Blue Lake and Willow Creek. Each center is staffed with one coordinator
and supported by grant-funded contract workers and volunteers.
Mental Health Initiative, South Orange County, CA
Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, CA is working to improve the mental
health of the most vulnerable members in South Orange County. Using an
integrated network of care, Mission Hospital aims to improve mental health
services for vulnerable populations in South Orange County through prevention
and by ensuring access to appropriate, quality mental health services.
Access to Health Care, Central Orange County, CA
Access to health care continues to be a priority area due to the overwhelming
need for health care services in underserved communities in central Orange
County. St. Joseph Hospital’s community clinics address these identified
needs by providing primary medical, dental and vision services to our
Healthy Cities Campaigns, High Desert Region, CA
St. Mary Medical Center in Apple Valley, CA has partnered in developing
four Healthy City campaigns to improve health regionally. These campaigns
implement programs and policies to improve and protect the health of residents.
