Community Benefit Financials
St. Joseph Health (SJH) provides Community Benefit in every community we
serve. For fiscal year 2015, SJH provided a total of $1,058,438 in Community
Benefit. This includes not only traditional care, but programs and services
we deliver outside our walls that support and promote community health
and wellbeing. Community Benefit also includes unreimbursed costs from
Medicaid/MediCal, and other state and local government assistance programs.
It does not include unpaid costs of Medicare.
SJH’s Quality Assurance Fee payments and Supplemental Payment revenues
from the California Hospital Quality Assurance Program are included as
part of the unpaid cost of state and local programs.
