Inaugural James Henry Ransom Foundation 5K raises $35,000 for adolescent mental and behavioral program at Mission Hospita Jan 3, 2018 Contributor: Orange County Register MISSION VIEJO — Courtney Ransom and her family couldn’t have imagined a better start to what is planned as the annual James Henry Ransom Foundation Memorial 5K event. The 5K honored James Ransom, Courtney Ransom’s son, who committed suicide in 2016 at age 14 after a concussion resulted in mental and behavioral issues. More than 500 people participated in the inaugural event Oct. 7 at Oso Viejo Park. Even better, sisters Julia and Lillianne Ransom presented the Mission Hospital Foundation with a check for $35,000 on Dec. 29. Read more.
