Sr. Marian Schubert, CSJ, MS, MAHCM
Executive Vice President & Chief Mission Officer
Sister Marian Schubert, CSJ possesses a wealth of working knowledge about
all the California ministries of St. Joseph Health. After completing nursing
school she worked as a nurse at both St. Jude Medical Center, Fullerton
and as a founding member of La Amistad de Jose Clinic for St. Joseph Hospital,
Orange. After becoming a family nurse practitioner she helped to start
a pediatric mobile clinic for Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. While at Mission
Hospital, Mission Viejo she served as a family nurse practitioner at Camino
Health Center and served as the Director for Performance Improvement.
Sister Marian has been a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange
since 1978. She received her BS in nursing from Mount St. Mary’s
College in Los Angeles, her MS and nurse practitioner certificate from
the University of California, San Francisco and MA in health care mission
from the Aquinas Institute, St. Louis, Missouri.
In her role as executive vice president & chief mission officer for
the System, she is responsible for the departments of advocacy, community
benefit, clinical and organizational ethics, formation, spiritual care
services, and mission integration.
Sister Marian currently serves on the boards of trustees for Santa Rosa
Memorial Hospital and Petaluma Valley Hospital. She serves as the Chair
of the Community Partnership Fund in Orange. Previously, she has been
on the Board of Trustees for Providence Health and Services located in
Renton, Washington as well as the boards St. Joseph Hospital, Eureka,
Redwood Memorial Hospital, Fortuna and St. Joseph Health System.
