After graduation from medical school, he did his internship training in Detroit, MI, and then completed his general surgery residency in Largo, FL.  He was proud to have been named Resident of the Year by the nursing staff of his hospital during his final year of training. He performs the full breadth of general surgery including abdominal surgery, colorectal, breast, and hernia repair. In addition, he is also skilled in upper and lower endoscopy.  He and his wife recently welcomed their first child, and are happy to be calling Humboldt County home. *Dr. Bireley and the entire staff at his office were all prime form, pure class, helpful and showed concern and compassion for my condition in a way that was both human and professional. Also I experienced no pain from my surgery.
