    Biography
A board-certified neurosurgeon, fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and specialist in surgical brain tumor management, Gamma Knife and Cyberknife radiosurgery and the surgical treatment of movement disorders, Dr. Duma is one of the most experienced neurosurgeons in the specialty of stereotactic radiosurgery. He has been at the forefront of research in immunotherapy for malignant gliomas.

Dr. Duma specializes in brain tumors and depending on their pathology, their adjunctive treatment with immunotherapy. Because Dr. Duma performs both open general brain surgery and Gamma Knife radiosurgery, he is uniquely equipped to offer an unbiased and very modern opinion as to how any brain pathology should be managed. He has been performing Gamma Knife treatments since 1990, and is one of the most experienced Gamma Knife radio/neurosurgeons in the Western United States.

He performs general neurosurgery using state-of-the-art neuronavigational computers and is an expert in minimally invasive neurosurgery—accomplishing better results by being less invasive and using more powerful, modern tools.

In addition to being a diplomate of the American Board of Neurological Surgery, he is also assistant clinical professor at UC Irvine School of Medicine. He received his general neurosurgical training at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. He also completed a fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, Presbyterian Hospital in Gamma Knife radiosurgery and stereotactic neurosurgery, under the guidance of Dr. L. Dade Lunsford, an international authority and the first to offer radiosurgery in the United States.

Dr. Duma has authored many textbook chapters, articles and studies and has been an invited speaker at many prestigious medical conferences. He is currently the program director of Hoag Brain Tumor Program.
