    Biography
Dr. Robert Davison has been a licensed Psychologist in California for over thirty years and has provided treatment for a wide variety of patients. These patients include adolescence, people in their twenties and thirties and middle age and seniors patients. He treats Depression, Anxiety and Mood Disorders, persons struggling with chronic illness, problems with coping skills, family conflict and marital problems, persons dealing with the grief process, anger management, poor self-esteem and narcissistic injury, sexual and physical abuse, persons dealing with the aging process or some form of addiction if they are in AA or another form of continuing treatment.

TREATMENT APPROACH: Psychodynamic and Relational Psychotherapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I base my treatment approach on the patient’s current mental status, their childhood and relational history, their defenses and their ability to establish a therapeutic relationship which may include transference and counter transference issues. Although as a psychologist I am not able to prescribe psychiatric medication I am familiar with these medications and I don’t hesitate to refer patients to a psychiatrist or their PCP if the need arises and providing the patients consent I will consult with the patient’s physician from time to time.
