Dr. Bill Eschenbacher is a pulmonary physician with interest in general
pulmonary medicine as well as patients with occupational and environmental
lung disease. He also has a special interest in pulmonary diagnostic testing.
He has lectured and written about pulmonary disease with over 60 peer-reviewed
scientific publications and book chapters. This includes being a co-editor
and author for a textbook on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
His most recent work prior to coming to Eureka was at the Cincinnati VA
Medical Center where he cared for veterans with lung problems. Before
that experience, he taught at the University of Michigan and Baylor College
of Medicine in Houston where he worked closely with the heart surgeon,
Michael DeBakey. He is married to Judy Mickelson, a cardiologist who is
also joining Humboldt Medical Specialists and St. Joseph Hospital. They
both enjoy outdoor activities including hiking and biking.
