Dr. Ghassemi has a keen interest in diseases of the stomach, intestines,
liver and pancreas.
Dr. Ghassemi trained at Yale University for her Gastroenterology fellowship.
She remained there on faculty, teaching fellows and developing educational
programs aimed at bettering patient care and delivery of service. She
has an interest in GI education and patient advocacy and has written book
chapters on management of GI complications in cancer patients, and training
endoscopy. After Yale, she completed an additional year of training in
Interventional Endoscopy at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland
Oregon. She has additional expertise in interventional endoscopy benefiting
patients with GI cancers. Her training includes expertise in endoscopic
ultrasound (EUS), Endomucosal Resection (EMR) and ERCP.
Dr. Ghassemi is double board certified both in Internal Medicine as well
as Gastroenterology. She is a member of multiple gastroenterology societies
including the American College of Gastroenterology and American Gastroenterological
Association. Her interests include therapeutic and screening endoscopy
ranging from colonoscopy, endoscopy , to EUS, and ERCP.
She welcomes the opportunity to serve Santa Rosa and the surrounding communities.
