Continuity of care – this is an area of health care that Dr. Iwaoka is passionate about. As a trained and experienced physician in the urgent care setting, Dr. Iwaoka believes that every patient has the right to receive high quality care and be seen in a timely manner. This coupled with communication with a patient’s primary care physician leads to the seamless care between various medical settings and positive outcomes for the patient.

Dr. Iwaoka chose to become a physician as he was fascinated with the area of medicine and enjoyed the opportunity to help people while also being intellectually stimulated. In his role as a physician, Dr. Iwaoka enjoys serving as a resource to address his patients’ medical questions and challenges.

According to Dr. Iwaoka, “It is important that a primary care physician is actively involved in a patient’s health care no matter the provider. By keeping a primary care physician appraised of all medical care, it allows them to serve their patient proactively and be an active player in their on-going health care.”

Dr. Iwaoka attended medical school at Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juarez and completed his residency at Medical College of the Hampton Roads. During his remarkable career, Dr. Iwaoka has held many leadership roles. He brings his compassionate nature and great listening skills to Hoag Medical Group and looks forward to serving a diverse patient population.
