For Dr. Leon, Hoag Medical Group means being at the forefront of superior
health care for the community, a perfect match for this lifelong learner
who knew she wanted to be a doctor since age twelve. From a young age,
she has loved taking care of children and was inspired by how well her
own pediatrician cared for her.
Dr. Leon finds it very rewarding to work with children, as she can make
a positive impact on their lives and watch them grow and develop into
healthy adults. She places an emphasis on preventive care and loves to
educate and advise families. She also enjoys taking time to address parents’
questions and concerns and to reassure parents as needed.
Dr. Leon’s special interest in preventive medicine led her to earn
a Master’s in Public Health degree from the USC Keck School of Medicine.
She then gained a strong background in newborn care and breastfeeding
as a Public Health Educator, teaching classes to new mothers. Dr. Leon
is also a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist and offers lactation services
at her office.
She earned her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine
in Boston, completed her pediatric residency at UC Irvine, and is Board
Certified in Pediatrics. Her past experience includes tending to newborns
as a staff physician at Hoag Hospital and working as a pediatrician at
a group practice in Irvine.
She is fluent in conversational Spanish and enjoys spending time with her
husband and two young daughters.
