    Biography

Dusten MacDonald, MD, is a board-certified Radiation Oncologist with extensive experience in Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT). SBRT has many palliative applications but is also a curative and non-invasive treatment for early-stage lung cancer. This type of treatment has never before been available on the north coast, and was not possible until The Dr. Russell Pardoe Radiation Oncology Center at St. Joseph Hospital recently installed two new Elekta Infinity Linear Accelerators.

Dr. MacDonald comes to us from Olympia, Washington, after completing residency training at Washington University in St. Louis followed by eight years of service in the US Army Medical Corps. In addition to having experience treating a wide variety of malignancies, Dr. MacDonald has extensive research experience, including recent presentations and publications regarding breast cancer, urologic malignancies, and palliative radiation therapy. We are very pleased with Dr. MacDonald’s decision to join us and look forward to working together to continue to expand cancer care in Humboldt County.
