Kathleen Mott, RN, MS, NP-BC, APNG is a nurse practitioner with an advanced practice degree and special certification in cancer genetics. Along with 40 years in women’s health, she brings 11 years of experience in genetic risk evaluation, patient education/counseling and facilitation of hereditary cancer genetic testing to Annadel Medical Group and St. Joseph Health Sonoma County. Kathleen’s areas of expertise include development and management of cancer risk assessment programs and the evaluation and counseling of patients at risk of hereditary cancer within a multidisciplinary oncology practice.

Kathleen received a diploma in nursing in 1972, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with an Education Minor from Alverno College and in 2006, a Master’s of Science in Nursing with a dual option in Oncology and Genomics from the University of California, San Francisco, California. Prior to joining Annadel, Kathleen was the Coordinator of the Cancer Risk Assessment and Hereditary Cancer Genetic programs for Redwood Regional Medical Group. In this role, Kathleen developed a unique approach to cancer risk assessment utilizing risk analysis software to identify clients at increased risk of developing cancer. Following self-reported personal and family histories collected in the breast imaging center, she provided individualized risk consultations, risk reduction education and referrals for comprehensive genetic evaluation, chemoprevention, and intensified cancer surveillance.

In her tenure, Kathleen has served the medical community in numerous capacities, including principal of North Bay Cancer Risk Assessment Services; practice as breast health specialist, and as a UCSF research nurse. While nurse practitioner for breast surgeon Charles Elboim MD, FACS, Kathleen developed and managed a breast endoscopy study for women at increased risk of developing cancer.

When Kathleen is not managing cancer risk assessments, caring for patients with hereditary risk or serving as a resource to staff, she enjoys providing professional continuing education and presentations to community groups. A fitness buff, Kathleen loves working out with weights, power walks and taking Pilates classes.
