Dr. Shahla Rah is a highly trained and experienced board certified Gastroenterologist in practice for over 20 years.

She is awarded a prestigious Fellow status, FACG, by the American College of Gastroenterology.

Dr. Rah graduated with honors from Dow Medical College and received her post graduate training in Surgery in UK. She then migrated to US and completed her residency at Loyola Medical Center, Chicago, and Gastroenterology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

My philosophy is helping patients and delivering a high quality of care with compassion, respect and trust.

I make it my priority to develop a customized plan for each individual patient and provide the education, resources and support they deserve.

Dr. Rah keeps herself up to date with the most recent innovations and techniques and incorporating it into her practice besides routine endoscopic procedures, such as Smart pill for motility, Capsule endoscopy, Barrx for Barretts esophagus and Gastric Balloon for weight loss.

She is the pioneer in Orange County to introduce the nonsurgical hemorrhoid removal technique using CRH O'Reagan system seven years ago that is a painless nonsurgical procedure with no down time.

Prevention is the key to a healthy body, and her dedication is clearly reflected in her personal efforts to increase the awareness of colon cancer screening by starting a runners group and running a marathon, "Pound the polyps Cure the cancer" raising funds towards the cure and prevention of colon cancer. She is also involved in community services and volunteering.

Dr Rah is affiliated with Hoag Hospital Newport Beach and Irvine. She lectures locally and nationally and also participates in research protocols to improve the understanding and management of evolving diseases.

In her spare time she loves traveling, spending time with family, being outdoors, connecting with nature, playing golf, tennis and hiking.
