Harry Skinner, MD is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon practicing at
St Jude Medical center as orthopedic hospitalist. After an initial grounding
in engineering, culminating in PhD in Biomedical Engineering at UC Berkeley,
he went on to graduate from Medical University of South Carolina, and
Orthopedic residency at UC Davies. Dr Skinner has a wealth of experience
in sports, joint replacement surgery and research. He is widely published
in peer reviewed journals related to his extensive research in joint replacement
and materials design and sciences, lectures across the nation and internationally.
He has taught biomedical engineering and orthopedic surgery in numerous
prestigious universities, Tulane, UC Berkeley, UCSF, UC Irvine to name
but a few. He is currently Professor Emeritus in Orthopedic Surgery at
UC Irvine dedicated to teaching and publishing.
He has been recognized multiple times as Physician of Excellence by the
Orange County Medical Association and has been voted “Best Doctor”
by his peers for the last 15 years.
Dr. Skinner is actively trying to improve hip fracture care as part of
the Geriatric Fracture Care Program at St Jude Medical Center by decreasing
the time to surgery and the time in hospital to reduce deconditioning
and speed the return to full function. Dr Skinner strives to deliver the
highest quality orthopedic care, tailored to meet the specific needs of
each unique person.
