Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Dr. Serag first wanted to be a judge until
she became fascinated by her childhood doctor and the way he listened
to her and her mother. Dr. Serag brings that compassionate, patient-centered
approach to Hoag.
“Hoag is a top-notch place,” Dr. Serag says. “They really
want us to innovate and take health care to another level.”
She graduated from Stanford University, where she was the only student
selected by faculty to speak at commencement. Dr. Serag went on to earn
her medical degree from Johns Hopkins, where she was awarded the prestigious
Longcope Prize in Clinical Medicine, which recognizes the top performer
in internal medicine. She completed academic residency training at UCLA
Medical Center. Most recently, she was a faculty member in the UCLA Department
of Internal Medicine prior to joining Hoag.
Dr. Serag enjoys hiking and spending time in the outdoors with her husband
and their 4 year old son.
