Dr. Safaei has been practicing medicine for more than 13 years, however,
her choice to pursue this career was solidified many years earlier. As
a child, she was very close to her grandmother and watched her suffer
through many illnesses. This was a defining moment for Dr. Safaei as she
promised her grandmother that she would become a physician and help others
to maximize their quality of life and provide the best care possible.
As an internist, she takes a comprehensive approach with each patient and
makes sure she treats the whole body, not just the symptom. She is thrilled
to be a part of Hoag Medical Group which allows her the creativity and
individuality to provide her patients with superior health care services.
Always focusing on the patient, Dr. Safaei believes that practicing medicine
is only successful when it is a collaboration between a patient and their
physician. “I educate my patients and provide them with resources,
support, and invite them to become active participants in their own health
goals. I am passionate about what I do and work from the heart.”
Fluent in Farsi and able to communicate in medical Spanish, Dr. Safaei
earned her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. She
then continued on to complete her Internal Medicine Internship at the
New York Medical College and Residency at Kaiser Permanente in Northern
California, an affiliate program of Stanford University. Additionally,
she completed training in Clinical Homeopathy.
Outside of work, she enjoys practicing yoga, traveling, learning about
new cultures, reading, and spending time outdoors with her family.
