The defining moment to pursue a career in medicine dates back to sixth grade when Dr. Steindler read a book he fondly recalls titled “Not as a Stranger”. It was this book that served as the inspiration for him to set out to serve others and create relationships that would provide support in times of need.

Dr. Steindler is board certified in both family medicine and emergency medicine and bring over 30 years of experience to Hoag Medical Group. He enjoys treating patients of all ages and appreciates the opportunity to treat each patient as a unique person.

His primary areas of focus include attention deficit disorder in children and adults and being a good diagnostician of difficult illnesses. As Dr. Steindler says it best, “It’s all about the people and I like the variety of experiences from newborns to the elderly. I believe in conducting comprehensive evaluations and looking at all aspects of a person’s health, not just the problem at hand. I truly believe in providing personalized care and working with my patients for the best results.”

Dr. Steindler was born in Israel and grew up in Canada but considers Southern California his home. He attended University of Toronto for medical school and completed a variety of internships and residencies throughout Canada and the United States.

Fluent in Hebrew, Dr. Steindler enjoys his time outside the office with his wife, Lora Rosenfeld-Steindler, children, and grand-children. His hobbies include playing tennis, watching sports, reading, and traveling.
