    Biography
Podiatrist Dr. William Todd’s mission is to stop pain in walking with innovation, education, and perseverance.

The pursuit of this goal stems from his undergraduate years at Oregon State University. Intercollegiate rowing began his interest in human motion and biomechanics. Through his postgraduate years at California College of Podiatric Medicine, patient care was merged with the understanding of the human gait. He received his doctorate in 1976 and achieved the Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He is a fellow in the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery.

The recognition of patient needs is the number one priority. A holistic approach to foot pain and deformity is employed while considering the physical, medical, and surgical avenues for treatment. Common problems should be examined at every angle to ensure the best outcome. Dr. Todd was joined in his endeavor by Nina Shliapnikoff Todd DPM. They were married in 1976 and have practiced together for 40 plus years. They have two sons, Michael Todd and Nicholas Todd and four grandchildren. The 40 years of practice in the San Francisco Richmond District has provided a continuity of patient care.

A painful walk is a barrier to a healthy life but the barrier must be treated in the context of life’s journey. The human gait is an important distinction of humanity.
