A community is as strong as its hospital, and with recent investments into
Covenant Health Plainview, it’s evident that to our friends and
family on the South Plains, quality health care is critical to the quality
of life in our area.
Back in 2014, the St. Joseph/Providence health systems invested $31.5 million
to a $40 million total renovation of Covenant Health Plainview. A remaining
$5 million would come from the hospital’s authority board while
$3.5 million would be raised from private fundraising.
Since then, construction has been booming at the Plainview hospital and
on Sunday, Jan. 28, the community will celebrate the project’s first
complete phase of the renovation with a blessing over the new James and
Eva Surgical Center.
“We’re so excited to see the completed surgical center,”
said Freada Warren about the upcoming open house.
Starting at 2:30 p.m., Covenant Health Plainview will host a Community
Blessing of the building which will feature a special program, tours of
the completed facility, a ribbon cutting and a community spiritual blessing
over the building. The event is free and open to everyone who wants to
see the hospital’s progress.
