Following medical school, he performed his internship in medicine in upstate New York. He completed his neurology residency at the University of California at Davis, with his final year as Chief Resident. He decided during this time to focus on headache medicine and completed the first fellowship in headache medicine at the University after receiving an award grant from the American Headache Society to sponsor his research on migraine and multiple sclerosis. This project was presented to the American Headache Society at their annual national conference and published it in the medical journalHeadache. He also attended a nationally sponsored mini-stroke fellowship during his fellowship at the University, where he partook in increasing his understanding of stroke and upcoming advances in stroke care. He was appointed assistant staff physician for the University and participated within the Headache Clinic. In his final year at UC Davis, he attended a national stroke mini-fellowship.

After completion of his residency, he and his family moved to southern California as he took a position with Kaiser Permanente and directed the regional headache clinic alongside his general neurology clinic. He became a regional Headache Champion for the group. He undertook and updated the stroke program during his tenure . He left the Kaiser organization to take part in creating and establishing the neurology department for Mission Internal Medical Group in 2007.

He continues to stay active in headache medicine as he maintains membership in the major headache medicine organizations and is part of the headache section within the American Academy of Neurology. He is one of the original members of the Headache Cooperative of the Pacific, an organization established for promoting education and communication in headache care. He is active within Mission Hospital at both campuses of Laguna Beach and Mission Viejo. He is active in the stroke program at Mission Hospital, where it maintains its national certification in stroke care. He is involved in creating a stroke aftercare clinic to promote good health after such an event. He is involved in the hospital’s seizure and epilepsy protocols. He is also attends to Children’s Hospital of Orange County at the Mission Viejo site.

Along with general neurology, his interests include headache and facial pain, stroke, disorders of aging and memory, disorders in movement and Parkinson’s disease, seizures and epilepsy, and multiple sclerosis. although Dr. G came recommended from friends, he did an OK test but did not explain the test at all afterwards. He just handed me a copy of the report and said if I wanted to talk about the report I could schedule another appointment to follow up which seems ridiculous. Most doctors if they do a test they will explain it right then and there. It was an EMG test which is painful. I took the copy of the report to my orthopedic surgeon. Dr. G's comment to me that day was he had done many EMG test and he was tired. He was fairly non-communicative during the test or at any time. I would not recommend him nor go back to him. pretty disappointed, Especially when the rest of the doctors I have seen at Mission Heritage are fantastic

Dr. Gee was dismissive of my concerns, but then it seemed it was because he was u familiar with my condition. he used the internet and mayoclinic.com to explain symptoms. he never reviewed the 5 pages of recent past medical history I was asked to complete while I was there. He recommended a lumbar puncture and told me I had a complicated condition, but then couldn't find a nurse to help me schedule the procedure, so just sent me to the front desk. The front desk told me soonest they could schedule in his office would be over 2 months away.
